Mother Pleads For Public's Help Finding Gunman After Worcester Shooting
WORCESTER (CBS) - Little Yasin Rage is inconsolable. Ever since the shooting, the two-year-old's mom says he cries most of the time. When he settles down, he won't speak.
"He's just traumatized. He's afraid of anyone right now. Basically he sees a large group of people, he just gets scared of that right now," she said, with her brother translating.
Monday night, the mother and toddler were both shot as they sat in their car in Worcester. They were visiting relatives, when Worcester police say Suldano Bilal accidentally almost hit someone in the parking lot. Someone responded with gunfire, shooting both her and her toddler.
"We didn't realize until we got out of the car and saw the blood all over the car," she said.
No arrests have been made.
"I would just ask the public to stand up and give the police some information on what they need," said Bilal.
She and her family fled from war-torn Somalia. "We came to this country because we thought it was a peaceful country," she told WBZ. "Apparently it doesn't seem peaceful anymore."
