Escaped Inmate From Lawrence Prison Captured, Sheriff Says

LAWRENCE (CBS) -- Law enforcement officials say they captured a man who walked away from a minimum security prison on Tuesday.

Essex County Sheriff Frank G. Cousins Jr. said police captured Robert Reidy, an inmate who allegedly walked away from the Lawrence Correctional Alternative Center. Police say they found Reidy, 24, Tuesday evening in Nashua, New Hampshire.

Reidy, who is awaiting trial for drug possession charges, was reported missing from the correctional center on Tuesday afternoon. The Lawrence Correctional Alternative Center is a minimum security facility designed to help low-level offenders with addiction issues.

Now back in custody, the Sheriff's office says it is making arrangements to extradite Reidy.
