Looking for laughs this fall? You can't go wrong with this "holy outrageous comedy." Written by Charles Busch, The Divine Sister is a delightfully twisted sendup of Hollywood movie nuns. The New York Times called the production one of Busch's "freshest, funniest work in years, perhaps decades," and we think we might just have to agree. The Divine Sister tells the story of St. Veronica's Mother Superior, who is determined to build a new school for her convent. But she has to deal with hilarious challenges along the way, including a postulant experiencing "visions," sexual hysteria among her nuns, and a former suitor intent on luring her away from her vows. Directed by Larry Coen.

Now celebrating its 40th season, New York City-based Mabou Mines is one of the most influential experimental theatre ensembles. With Mabou Mines Dollhouse, director and MacArthur Fellow Lee Breur re-examines Ibsen's A Doll's House, transforming the tragedy into a comedy and giving the world of patriarchy and pretense a new twist. In this deconstruction, male characters are less than 4 1/2 feet tall and the women 6 feet tall.  A must-see.
