Star Spangled Stories: How Ocean City, Maryland, became a tourist destination

In the late 1800s, Maryland businesswomen ran boarding houses to earn a living. They sought out a remote, oceanside area, which became known as the Ladies Resort to the Ocean. By the turn oc the century, nearly 30 out of 32 hotels were owned by women, and Ocean City later became a vacation destination.
