Ever since Buffalo Bills player Darmar Hamlin's life was saved on the field, there has been a push to get more people trained to learn how to perform CPR and how to use a defibrillator.
The Buffalo Bills safety collapsed on the field during a televised game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday, Jan. 2.
Damar Hamlin was released from the hospital on Monday.
Doctors described Damar Hamlin's neurological function as "excellent" Saturday, as the Buffalo Bills safety continued making progress in his recovery after having to be resuscitated on the field in a game at Cincinnati on Monday.
Donations poured in within hours after Damar Hamlin suddenly suffered cardiac arrest after a tackle, with some donating thousands.
The Buffalo Bills say Damar Hamlin is breathing on his own and able to speak to his family, doctors and teammates.
In his first public comments since Hamlin collapsed after tackling him, Higgins said, "everyone has been making me feel whole again."
Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest on the field Monday during a game.
The Buffalo Bills safety remains hospitalized in critical condition, but "appears to be neurologically intact," the team said in a statement.
