WEATHER BLOG: Snow Day For Some, But Not All
Hi Everyone!!
If you had planned on a snow day, or sitting out of work all comfy at home, maybe having a "Big Lebowski" movie festival, and pigging out on comfort food…well I'm sorry. ( Or as "The Dude" might have said, "Far out.")
Here is my point. It's a forecast, not an absolute. The one variable in any forecast is the Earth itself. And THAT is what make the world of weather so,..ah..well, "far out."
The Earth is always in some sort of motion. We are watching a Low intensifying as we speak. it is pulling milder air in at many different atmospheric levels. Now that energy, as it transfers to the coast, well it ready to blow, and it will. Because of that Coastal Flood, and Beach issues have to become part of the discussion.
Point is the forecast has not "dumped", but rather changed. This is still going to be a sloppy day, and we are still expecting snow totals of 2-4": Metro, 3-6" NE, but over a 24 hour period. We will keep up with it.
Do understand this storm is gonna clobber areas from Philly to Boston. I mean just 90 miles up I-95 they will see a foot of snow. The storm is legit, it's dynamic here has just changed. Don't blame the weather Dudes, and Dudette! Is just the third rock from the Sun, the earth itself.
Count your blessings we missed a big one.
Far out!!!!!!!
