WEATHER BLOG: Rain Soon
We have areas of low clouds and patchy fog Saturday morning over near the shore, but in general, clouds and sun and warm Saturday with the afternoon ending cloudy as the front moves in from the west. The front approaching from the west is being helped up by a couple of different waves of low pressure along the front and will not trigger a couple of showers and a thunderstorm in our area until mid and late afternoon, and that continues into Saturday evening, then cooler post-frontal air overnight with generally spotty light rain and drizzle.
There can still be spotty light rain and drizzle early Sunday morning, but the low pressure area developing along the Southeast Coast in response to the large upper level trough will be riding northward and spreading steady precipitation shield back up across the area pretty quickly Sunday morning and the rain will probably become heavy Sunday afternoon and continue heavy at least the first half of Sunday night. Right now, thinking is 1-2 inches Baltimore on west and 1.5 to 3 the farther east and north you go closer to the track of the low.
Somewhat of a drier slot of air later Sunday night and Monday, but still probably plenty of clouds and a chilly wind Monday with spotty showers.
