WEATHER BLOG: It's Go Time
Hi Everyone,
Trust me when I tell you that this is "GO TIME." By that I mean time to take care of NUMBER ONE. Trust me you need to get shoveled out today before we get another refreeze tonight. the difference between the texture of the snow from yesterday afternoon to this morning is pretty noticeable. After another melt, and refreeze, today/tonight, this snow will get heavier, icier, and even harder to move. but you know that. IT'S TIME TO SEE THIS WITH EYES WIDE OPEN, NOT WIDE SHUT.
By the time you shovel out you will get to shovel even more as plows push a wall of snow your way, (that will block you in), as it is moved out of the roadway. Last night my side street was plowed half way, I can't figure that out but the wall of snow in front of my driveway was 5 feet tall and a yard and a half wide. My wife and I frantically, for two hours after dusk, shoveled it out of the way..into our yard not back into the street, while it could still be moved… (By the way after the shoveling I felt the need to return to the hotel where we are stationed during our off time to assure I could get in this AM. That is how convinced I was ,last night, that we would have SLICK conditions this AM, black ice where plowing has gotten to the roadbed if you will. I was right too. Some bad spots.) Also there is so much snow that the plow on my side street could only make one VERY tight lane, and that is a scene I have seen countless times over the past day. Patience, and respecting your neighbor will go a long way today, and through the week. (This must be what it is like to live live in a ski resort. No thanks! Give me Margaritaville.)
Tonight expect a refreeze, and then tomorrow once the temps get above 32 they will stay above freezing until Wednesday night. During that time you are moving wet heavy snow which if not moved will become an ice cube on Wednesday night. GO TIME ya'll. TCB! However you want to put it the time is NOW to get to work to get back to work/school/life in general.
Good luck, and stay safe.
