Three Orioles Make MLB's Top 100 Players List
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The 2016 regular season has ended and CBS Sports ranked the top 100 players in baseball at the end of it all.
Three Baltimore Orioles are on the list: Mark Trumbo (#97), Zach Britton (#54), and Manny Machado (#9).
Mark Trumbo finished the season with an AL-leading 47 homers, making the Orioles the first team to have the HR champ in four straight seasons since the 1961-65 Giants, and the first AL team to do it since the 1923-31 Yankees.
Zach Britton finishes the year 47-for-47 in saves and with a 0.54 ERA -- the lowest ever for someone who pitched at least 50 innings.
Manny Machado was named AL Player of the Month for April, after going 33-for-96 (.344), hitting ten doubles, seven home runs, driving in 17 runs, while slugging .667 with a .394 on-base percentage. He also earned the annual award of Most Valuable Oriole for the first time in his career.
