Teen Girl Flown To Shock Trauma After Being Struck By Car

HOWARD COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) -- A 13-year-old girl was struck by a car at the intersection of Vollmerhausen Road and Castleford Drive in Savage.

The accident happened around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.

The girl was flown to Shock Trauma. Her condition is not known.

According to police, the girl stepped in front of a 14-passenger van owned by La Petite Academy.

Police say there were five children between the ages of 6 and 8 in the van; no one in the van was injured.

The accident is under investigation.
