BALTIMORE -- A 69-year-old woman was one of two people shot in South Baltimore on Tuesday night, according to authorities.

The woman and a 24-year-old man were both victims of gunfire. The woman was shot in the head while the man had multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

Officers found the injured woman and man while investigating a report of a shooting in the 2200 block of Sidney Avenue around 8:55 p.m., according to authorities.

Both gunshot victims were taken to a local hospital to receive treatment for their injuries.

The woman is in critical condition while the man is listed in stable condition, police said.

Homicide detectives were sent to the site of the shooting along with Southern District detectives due to the severity of the woman's injuries, according to authorities.
