Sentencing Postponed In Tavern Slaying
ANNAPOIS, Md. (AP) -- The sentencing of a man who pleaded guilty of killing the father of three outside a Glen Burnie tavern has been postponed.
Thirty-four-year-old Clayton Battle was to be sentenced Wednesday for first-degree murder in the shooting death of 30-year-old Kelly Fisher of Glen Burnie on Dec. 4, 2010.
The Capital of Annapolis reports that an Anne Arundel County Circuit judge postponed sentencing until Sept. 14 after Battle's lawyer introduced an evaluation that examined his mental capacity.
Assistant State's Attorney Kim DiPietro agreed with the decision, saying she wanted more time to examine the document.
