Roberts, Guerrero Power Orioles Past Rays 7-2
PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (AP) -- Brian Roberts and Vladimir Guerrero homered Saturday to lead the Baltimore Orioles to a 7-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.
Roberts hit a solo homer off rookie Jeremy Hellickson in the third inning. Guerrero's two-run shot off Cesar Ramos snapped a 2-all tie and was the big blow in Baltimore's five-run eighth.
Right-hander Ryan Drese allowed two runs and five hits in three innings for the Orioles. Jason Berken, Josh Rupe and David Riske each worked two scoreless innings.
Ben Zobrist had a solo homer for Tampa Bay, which also got an RBI single from B.J. Upton.
Hellickson, slowed early in spring training by a hamstring injury, yielded two runs and five hits in 4 1/3 innings.
