Prince George's County Opens More Schools, 18 Still Closed

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County officials say three more public schools are opening in the wake of Hurricane Irene, but more than a dozen are still closed.

Officials say Central, Largo and Suitland High Schools will be open Tuesday after power was restored to the facilities. Another 18 schools in Prince George's are still closed.

All schools in Montgomery County and the District of Columbia are also open. However, students at D.C.'s School Without Walls will remain at Eastern High School so that repairs can be made to Schools Without Walls' chimney and bell tower.

Meanwhile, schools in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Calvert and St. Mary's counties remain closed, among others.
