Police Use Tear Gas To End Overnight Domestic Barricade

SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- Police used tear gas to end an overnight barricade standoff prompted by a domestic dispute.

Maryland State Police say they arrested 43-year-old Jason Gregory of Salisbury Sunday morning after deploying tear gas to flush him out of his father's home.

Police say Gregory's wife had asked him to leave the home earlier this weekend. They say he showed up at the home Saturday night driving a tractor, drunk, and armed with a long gun.

His wife told police that Gregory threatened her. He then left, threatening to kill himself and stating he would not be taken alive.

Police said they found Gregory at his father's home nearby and spent overnight hours trying to convince Gregory to come out.

Police say Gregory has been charged with assault and reckless endangerment.
