SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County police identify a man whose body was found on a grassy area by the Capital Beltway in Silver Spring.

Police said Thursday that the man has been identified as Honorio Nava-Paredes, 31, of Washington, D.C. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy but has not ruled on a cause and manner of death.

Police say a passerby spotted a body Tuesday morning off the right shoulder of the inner loop between Georgia Avenue and Colesville Road.

Police were investigating the case as a "suspicious death."
