Police ID Boy, 6, Who Shot Himself In Clinton

CLINTON, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County police have identified the 6-year-old boy who accidentally shot and killed
himself.

Authorities say Amari Markel-Purrel Perkins found the gun in his Clinton home and shot himself in the chest on Monday.

On Tuesday, police charged Raymond A. Brown, 20, with reckless endangerment. Brown also lived in the home on Arbutus Lane.

Authorities say Brown brought the gun into the home and stashed it in a Spiderman backpack.

Police had said that they would not release the boy's name, but they reversed that decision.
