Person Trapped After Cement Truck Overturns In Anne Arundel Co.

PASADENA, Md. (WJZ) -- Crews work to free the driver of a concrete truck after he crashes on a narrow road in Pasadena and is pinned inside.
There were some tense moments in Pasadena Thursday afternoon, as the driver was pinned down in the truck for hours. The Shock Trauma Go team was placed on standby.
"Be advised, when the cement truck rolled over, it rolled over into a telephone pole. The pole is cracked. Wires are knocked down," says a 911 dispatcher.
A concrete mixer truck driving along Forest Glen Drive in Pasadena ran off the road and crashed into a pole, and landed on its side. The driver was stuck.
"I have wires"
"I have wires on the vehicle, person trapped in the vehicle. Okay, battalion chief, we're notifying BGEnow."
He was trapped for about two hours. The fire department says he had serious injuries and had to be flown to Shock Trauma.
Forest Glen drive was blocked off for hours, even after the driver was rescued. Many people who live along the road where the incident occurred, parked along the roadway and decided to walk home."
"They got people coming home from work now and there is no way to get back there," says Sharon Clarke, Pasadena
Investigators are trying to figure out why the truck ran off the road. Some people who were stuck in the roadblock couldn't help but think about the driver.
"That's terrible and I pray for the family. I hope he's ok," says Theresa Brenner, from Pasadena.
The driver has not been identified. The fire department says he's expected to survive, despite having serious injuries.
At least 35 customers lost power because of the crash.
