Paraplegic Md. Driver Ordered Back To Jail
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- An Ellicott City man has been ordered back to prison for violating his probation in a double manslaughter case.
Matthew Meyer, 31, was sentenced Wednesday in Hagerstown to 3 ½ years with another 3 ½ suspended. The sentence begins June 17.
The sentence stems from a 2002 car crash in Washington County that killed Gerald and Mary Ellen Dieterich.
Meyer was released from prison in 2008 after serving more than four years of a seven-year term.
Prosecutors say he was caught speeding last year despite a probation condition that barred him from driving in the state.
Meyer is paralyzed from the chest down due to injuries from an earlier wreck.
