Pa. Woman Named Md. Symphony Director
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Tamara Nuzzaci Park, who has held a variety of positions at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, has been hired as the director of the Maryland Symphony Orchestra.
Symphony officials say Park, a native of Middletown, Md., started her new job Aug. 22. She succeeds Andrew Kipe, who resigned in November to become general manager of the Phoenix Symphony.
The Hagerstown Herald-Mail reports that Park had also served as orchestra personnel manager of the Philadelphia Orchestra. She says she hopes to attract a younger audience to classical music.
