Ocean City Officials Revise Boardwalk Regulations

OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) -- The Ocean City Council has approved revisions to regulations that limited people from performing on the city's boardwalk.

The Daily Times of Salisbury (http://delmarvane.ws/1VuCzMj ) reports that the changes were approved Monday night after the town created a task force to look at the regulations and revise them if they saw fit.

The regulations came into effect last summer and required anyone wanting to perform on the boardwalk to sign up for a designated spot. The regulations were met with backlash and performers eventually filed a lawsuit.

The revisions include using a lottery system once a week for performers to choose a space. There will be restrictions for allowing performers to use bigger spaces. Additionally, performers will be allowed to share spaces between two people.
