Murder Convict Now Accused Of Throwing Urine, Spitting On Jail Guards

CAMBRIDGE, Md. (AP) -- A Maryland man awaiting sentencing on a murder conviction is facing new charges that he assaulted jail guards.

Brandon Jamar Sampson is charged in two attacks on correctional officers at the Dorchester County Detention Center.

Dorchester Sheriff James W. Phillips Jr. tells the Star-Democrat of Easton that Sampson is accused of throwing a cup of urine at a group of correctional officers last month. He was also charged a month earlier with spitting in the face of a detention center employee.

Sampson pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in November in a fatal shooting last year. He's scheduled for sentencing on April 14.
