M&T Bank Gets New Sod
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- M&T Bank Stadium visitors are seeing a new kind of green on the field.
This week, grounds crews installed natural grass, taking the place of the old, artificial surface.
The sod was actually grown at a farm in North Carolina before it was trucked to Baltimore and rolled out on the field.
The team is using Bermuda grass because it has a thick, strong root---necessary to withstand the impact of football.
