MARC Warns Of Limited Camden Line Service After Brush Fires

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Officials are warning that service on MARC's Camden line will be extremely limited the morning after major disruptions from brush fires.

MARC officials said in a statement that because of federal regulations requiring rest time for conductors and engineers, only three trains will operate on the Camden line between Baltimore and Washington on Thursday morning. The trains will have extra capacity, but can't accommodate the typical number of passengers. Officials expect to restore full service by Thursday evening.

Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue spokeswoman Denise Weist said in a statement that firefighters in Howard, Prince George's, Anne Arundel and Baltimore counties responded to brush fires along the rail line Wednesday.

Trains were held until the fires were controlled around 8:30 p.m. The cause is under investigation.
