Man Charged With Trespassing At School Deemed Competent To Stand Trial
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ/AP) -- A former National Guardsman detained at an Anne Arundel County high school earlier this month has been found competent to stand trial and faces a bail review hearing.
A judge on Tuesday deemed Justin Matthew Beaumont, who police say maintained a large weapons cache at in his home, competent for trial. He remains in custody without bond, but faces a bail review on Wednesday morning at Annapolis District Court. He is charged with trespassing.
Police say Beaumont, 24, entered North County High School through a back door earlier this month and that an assault rifle and other weapons were found during a search of his home.
Beaumont told the arresting officers he was bullied there.
Beaumont was hospitalized after his arrest, but has been released and placed on a mental health court docket.
