Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Mother Stabbed

SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- A Salisbury man has been charged after police say the man's mother was stabbed.

The Daily Times reports 22-year-old Conner Salmon was arrested following the incident which took place on Oct. 11. Police say Salmon stabbed his mother, Laurie Menzl, with a screwdriver and knife and threatened to set the house on fire.

Charging documents show Salmon admitted to the stabbing and to the threats. In addition, the documents also reveal that the home smelled of lighter fluid.

Salmon is being held without bond and faces several other charges including first- and second-degree assault.

It isn't immediately clear if he has an attorney.
