Sometimes athletes open their mouths and say things they shouldn't, and this time it was Dwyane Wade. Wade and Ray Allen both voiced their displeasure with playing in the Olympics and not being paid for it. Wade was complaining about giving up his summer to go over seas. He said its difficult to play during the offseason because of injuries, travel, and being away from his family. After that he brought up money.

He said they make money off the jersey sales and television revenue. He mentioned that players give up their time, should be compensated. If you don't like it, THEN DON'T PLAY. Dwyane Wade, you are not required to play. It should be a privilege to play basketball for your country. The same country that you will earn 70 million dollars over the next 5 years. He has since retracted his statement saying he doesn't believe that players should be paid.
