Inmate Walks Off From Southern Maryland Pre-Release Unit
CHARLOTTE HALL, Md. (WJZ)—Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services is looking for an inmate who walked off the Southern Maryland Pre-Release Unit on Sunday.
Ramano Coates was last accounted for Sunday during the afternoon count at about 4:30 p.m.
At some point between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. that day, Coates walked off from the Southern Maryland Pre-Release Unit (SMPRU).
The 35-year-old is 6 feet tall and weighs about 230 pounds.
He was serving a 10-year sentence for second-degree assault.
Police have been notified, and a retake warrant has been issued.
