Infant In Back Seat Of Car During D.C. Beltway Road-Rage Attack

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. (AP) — Police say an infant girl was in the back seat of a car when a man used a weapon to shatter the car's passenger-side window during an possible road-rage attack on the Beltway.

Fairfax County police say the road-rage incident began on Interstate 495 near National Harbor and culminated with the infant's 38-year-old father receiving minor injuries after the window shattered Thursday afternoon in North Springfield.

WTOP-FM reports the father pulled into a gas station and waited for police to respond. He was treated at the scene. The baby was not hurt.

Police located the unidentified 25-year-old suspect at a restaurant in Vienna, Virginia.

It is unclear what prompted the altercation or what type of weapon was used to break the victim's window.
