Garrett County Hospital Expansion Proposed
OAKLAND, Md. (AP) -- State lawmakers from far western Maryland are asking the General Assembly to approve a funding plan to expand Garrett County Memorial Hospital in Oakland.
The Cumberland Times-News reported in its Friday edition that the bills would enable the county to borrow up to $15 million for the project.
The hospital is proposing a four-story addition and 42,000 square feet of major renovations. The total cost of the project is $23.5 million.
Hospital officials say they hope to break ground in the spring.
