Former Baltimore County Police Chief Ensor Dead At 98

TOWSON, Md. (AP) -- The Baltimore County Police Department says Ellison W. Ensor, who led the department from 1967 until his retirement in 1975, has died.

The department says the 98-year-old Ensor died Friday. His death was announced in a statement from the department Sunday.

The department says Ensor joined the Baltimore County Police Bureau in August of 1941, five years after graduating from Towson High School. He spent 34 years with the department.

The department says a viewing will be held on Monday at the Ruck Funeral Home in Towson, and funeral services will be held Tuesday at St. John the Evangelist church in Hydes.
