Flacco & Ravens Fans Ready For Playoffs
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The Ravens are now on the road to the Super Bowl. First stop: Kansas City. Purple fever is running high as the Ravens prepare to take on the Chiefs in the first round of the playoffs. Baltimore City is getting in the spirit big time!
Derek Valcourt spoke with Joe Flacco.
With the playoffs days away, Baltimore is in full swing football FANdemonium. From buildings to lights to logos and even hair, it's purple all the way.
"Just to get to the playoffs the third straight year in a row, we're all excited," Flacco said.
The star quarterback got a taste of the love when fans packed a car dealership for his radio guest appearance on WJZ-FM 105.7 The Fan Tuesday night.
"We know that we're loved by all of our fans in this city and that we're creating some excitement around town and that's a great thing to see," Flacco said.
"We're happy to have our fans happy around Baltimore, the community excited about this Super Bowl run," said LaDarius Webb.
That excitement was literally painted into parts of the city, including a huge Ravens logo on the side of Federal Hill. In fact, you'll find Ravens logos popping up all over town, including one right here on TV Hill.
Neighborhood after neighborhood are getting a taste of the purple passion. Even City Hall is filled with team spirit.
"The players have the ethos of our city. They're simple, not a lot of flash, committed to what they're doing, hard-working, tough just like we are in Baltimore," said Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.
You can see the Ravens begin their march to the Super Bowl Sunday at 1 p.m. on WJZ.
