Family Of Md. Man Imprisoned In Cuba Marks 2 Years

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The family of a Maryland man is marking two years since he was arrested and imprisoned in Cuba while working as a government subcontractor.

Alan Gross was arrested two years ago Saturday. The 62-year-old has said he was only trying to help the small Jewish community on the island improve its Internet access. Earlier this year, however, a Cuban court sentenced him to 15 years in prison for crimes against the state.

Gross' case has become a sticking point in talks between the U.S. and Cuba, which do not have diplomatic relations.

Earlier this week members of Maryland's congressional delegation called on Cuba to release him.
