Wife, Daughter Of Ravens Staffer Killed In Baltimore Fire
BALTIMORE (WJZ)—The Baltimore Ravens community is mourning Monday morning after an overnight fire claimed the life of a staffer's wife and daughter, according to a Baltimore City fire official.
The fire broke out around 2:00 a.m. Sunday in the 2300 block of E. Northern Parkway.
Officials say upon arrival to the scene, fire could be seen on the first and second floor of the residence.
Three victims, who were not identified by authorities, made it out of the blaze with the help of firefighters. Officials said two of the three victims were in serious condition on Sunday morning.
According to the Sun, the home on E. Northern Parkway is that of Ravens staffer Ellison James. The newspaper also reports that James' wife has died at the hospital. The daughter was taken to a local hospital in serious condition, but succumbed to her injuries Sunday night.
In an announcement after the Ravens win on Sunday, Coach Harbaugh spoke on the tragic events.
"[James'] daughter is fighting for her life right now, so I'm asking everybody to pray for her. Pray that God will heal her up, and grab her up, and make her whole and make her well," said Harbaugh.
The Ravens organization also releasing this statement saying, "The Ravens are mourning the loss of a staff member's wife after a fire early Sunday morning at his Baltimore home. The wife of Ellison James, who works in the team's security department, has passed away. James' daughter, Sage, is in critical condition at a Baltimore hospital.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
