Within two minutes, authorities arrived at the scene on York Road, where they found an adult male suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. The man was later identified as 22-year-old Nasir Majied.
During a press conference, authorities confirmed that the shooting occurred between two vehicles that were driving northbound along York Road.
Police say the suspect fired numerous shots at Majied, who was driving a Silver Kia.

On Saturday morning, Towson University President Mark Ginsberg released a statement to the school's community, confirming Majied's death.
Majied was injured just before reaching Towson Circle. He was taken to a nearby hospital in life-threatening conditions before he was later pronounced dead.
"We've heard reports this could be a potential road rage incident, that's not been ruled out. But we are still exploring other motives that could have played a role in resulting in the shooting," said Lepola-Stewart.
Detectives believe there was one person inside each vehicle during the time of the incident.
The relationship between the individual and the suspect is currently unknown.

The shooting comes following a recent uptick in crime in the Towson area.
Though one resident told WJZ's Ashley Paul that crime occurs everywhere.
"Whatever happened with them two, they had something personal against each other. Stuff like that don't normally happen," said Devin Green.
Baltimore County Police say they've added extra patrols due to events planned in the area on Friday night.
