Cyberbullying May Be To Blame For Va. Firefighter's Suicide
FAIRFAX COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) -- Fairfax County Fire Chief Richard Bowers says he will investigate allegations of cyberbullying in a firefighter's suicide.
Thirty-one-year-old Nicole Mittendorff's body was found in Shenandoah National Park's last week.
The medical examiner determined she died from suicide by hanging.
Officials say they're unsure if the defaming postings on the community gossip site Fairfax Underground had anything to do with her taking her life, but Chief Bowers says he has zero tolerance for bullying and will investigate the postings.
