Council Considers Green Standards, Plan Maryland
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- The Maryland Green Building Council is scheduled to receive presentations on Plan Maryland and new green building construction codes enacted by the legislature earlier this year.
The council is expected to meet Wednesday morning to consider the measures.
The new construction codes passed by the General Assembly mirror that of the International Green Construction Code. Plan Maryland is the governor's state-wide growth plan that has received blowback from county and municipal leaders.
The council is charged with evaluating high performance building technologies and recommending cost-effective green technologies to be used in constructing state buildings.
