Coach Of The Week - Ned Sparks

Ned Sparks, MPSSAA executive director joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn in this weeks segment of Coach of the Week brought to you by CountySportsZone.com. Ned has been at the helm of the MPSSAA for 34 years and has decided to retire at the end of this school year, Scott asked Ned if he's taken time to reflect on his time as the head of the MPSSAA. "Scott, we'll get these championships done for the spring then I'll have time to kind of reflect. But we have a real hectic next 2-3 weeks so we are looking forward to it and hoping the rain holds off, and hoping everything can finish up by Memorial Day Weekend.

A big part of the job is trying to work around the weather, making sure all of the games can be played in safe elements. Ned talked about what it's like having to work around the weather. "You've gotta make do. I learned a long time ago that you can't make contingency plans. There are so many different things that can happen, so many different scenarios that you just can't make up that many different plans. You just wait for it to happen and then go from there."
