Craig Laughlin is a former Capitals player who has been the teams color commentator on Comcast Sportsnet for 25 years.
Craig joined Ed and Steve to talk about the Capitals series win over the Flyers and the match-up with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
"Absolutely not. I knew right away, I figured it was a 5 or 6 game series when it started...the Caps are too good and the Flyers played a heck of a series, but I'm still not sure we've seen the best of this Caps team," said Laughlin.
As for the Capitals next series against the Penguins, Laughlin said, "I'm really excited about the next series...I think the Penguins might have the offensive advantage with how they're playing right now because they're so darn fast...on the other side the Caps allowed all of 6 goals against the Flyers."
When asked about the injury to Brooks Orpik and how that effects the second round Craig said, "that is a big question mark. Chorney has played well and Mike Weber filled in admirably yesterday...as for Orpik I think he'll be able to go right away." As for how well the Penguins are playing, "right now they seem to be firing on all cylinders with very accurate shots, and Holtby is going to be challenged," said Laughlin.
Craig also talked about the struggles of Evgeny Kuznetsov against the Flyers and whether or not he can bounce back in round 2 against Pittsburgh.
