BLOG: Great Weekend
There are some high and mid-level clouds over mainly the western part of the viewing area, along with a few radar echoes.
As far as I can see nothing has reached the ground anywhere southeast of Michigan and the stuff should dissipate as we go through the midday and afternoon.
The day is getting off to a very tranquil start. As anticipated the temperature has dropped into the 60s overnight, with a mostly clear sky and light winds.
For mid-July, it's a very comfortable night for sleeping. A ridge of high pressure will continue to promote some warm and dry weather for the next few days.
While temperatures both today and tomorrow should be near the seasonal averages, which are in the mid-80s at this time of year, there will be an uptick in the humidity on Sunday and Monday, when we're anticipating that most high temperatures will be in the lower-90s (except at the Eastern Shore).
As the high pressure system begins to drift to the east this weekend, the clockwise flow of air surrounding it will be ushering in a southwesterly wind.
At this point in time, it appears that any shower or thunderstorm that occurs on Sunday will be confined to areas both near and to the west of the Appalachian Mountains.
A weak front will be dropping out of the north later on Monday and Monday night.
Have a good weekend !!!
