BLOG: Great Weekend
With high pressure solidly in control of our forecast, we have a dry weekend in store. Relatively low dewpoints will keep the humidity levels low for at least one more day. On Sunday, you'll notice a gradual increase in both the heat and moisture. Today's forecast high is 86 with an overnight low of 67. Sunday, expect a high near 90 and 92 on Monday...overnight lows remain in the low 70s for much of the next week.
By Monday afternoon, our ridge of high pressure continues to ease off to the east/southeast...allowing warmer air to creep in from the southwest (where searing temps have been baking states from Georgia to Texas). A warm front will move into the area, bringing more instability and a greater chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Temperatures stay in the 90s all week, with a gradual rise for the next five days. By week's end, we will see a heat index in the low 100s. In the meantime, anything you have planned outside will be with the cooperation of Mother Nature. This will be one of the nicest stretches of July weather in recent memory.
Have a great weekend.
