Rawlings-Blake To Announce Run For 4-Year Term
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley says he'll be attending Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake's official campaign announcement next week that she is running for a full, four-year term as mayor.
O'Malley says in an email to supporters that he believes she's the right kind of leader to move Baltimore forward. Rawlings-Blake has scheduled a short ceremony outside of her childhood home on Monday.
Sen. Barbara Mikulski and Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown also are scheduled to attend the event.
Rawlings-Blake, a Democrat, became mayor last year after former Mayor Sheila Dixon stepped down as part of a plea agreement on corruption charges.
