Baltimore Man Has Much In Common With New CBS Show
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Imagine never being able to forget anything. That might be a blessing for some and a curse for others, but it's at the center of a new show airing on CBS Tuesday night.
Alex DeMetrick reports it's also a trait shared in real life by a Baltimore man.
It's dressed up for entertainment, but superior autobiographical memory means never forgetting what catches the eye. It's the premise of the new CBS show "Unforgettable" and is Sean Conlon's life.
"Most people can remember Sept. 11," Conlon said. "I do that every day for the last 30 or so years of my life."
WJZ interviewed Conlon last year. A Baltimore native, he can tell you who won the Preakness in 1999.
"That was Charismatic. That was Saturday, May 15, 1999," Conlon said.
The producers of "Unforgettable" wrote that same ability into their lead character.
"If I didn't experience it or I wasn't interested in it or wasn't around it, then I probably wouldn't remember it," Conlon said.
Researchers say only a handful of people in the world have Conlon's ability. No one's sure why.
"The best answer I can give them is Google something and it comes up in the screen, that's about all I can tell you," Conlon said.
And while remembering the past is no sure bet on the future, for Sean Conlon, his ability has been popular in Baltimore.
"I've been entertaining people with this at parties and in bars," Conlon said. "I've taken a lot of money."
"Unforgettable" premieres Tuesday at 10 p.m. on WJZ.
