Baltimore County volunteer firefighter arrested for sexually assaulting co-worker
A man was arrested after sexually assaulting his coworker in early May, Baltimore County Police announced on Friday.
On May 5, at 9:30 a.m., officers say they responded to the 10000 block of Liberty Road for reports of a sexual assault.
According to officials, the woman reported to them that an adult male had sexually assaulted her three days prior, on May 2.
An investigation was conducted, and it was later revealed that both the woman and the man worked together as volunteer firefighters. The two were assigned to the Liberty Road Fire Station in Baltimore County.
Officers issued a warrant for the suspect's arrest and have since located and taken the suspect into custody, per the Baltimore County Police Department. Police say the suspect's identity will be released after his appearance before a court commissioner.

Sexual assault cases in Maryland
On Thursday, a 52-year-old owner and operator of a Maryland cheer academy was arrested in connection with the sexual abuse of a 9-year-old girl in Queen Anne's County, according to the Maryland State Police.
Recent data from the Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault found that about 52% of Maryland women experienced unwanted sexual contact during their lifetime.
In 2025, 2,760 Marylanders were victims of sex offenses. Also in 2025, there were 79 victims of human trafficking, according to the MCASA.
So far in 2026, there have been 130 victims of sexual offenses in Baltimore County, per the Crime Data Dashboard.
