Apartment Fire That Displaced 10 Was Intentionally Set
ROSEDALE, Md. (AP) — Police and fire officials in Baltimore County say a fire in a Rosedale apartment building was intentionally set.
Firefighters said in a news release that the fire was reported shortly after noon Saturday at the Park East Apartments.
Officials say the fire was brought under control in less than an hour. Police say all 10 residents were displaced and one person was taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation.
Investigators say a tenant who had ongoing dispute with management twice confronted staff in the apartment's office. Police say the tenant returned, put flammable liquid on the door and floor and set it on fire.
Police have obtained a warrant charging the tenant with arson and attempted murder. Officers say the tenant is hospitalized and has not been served yet.
