American Pharoah Could Win First Triple Crown In 37 Years
NEW YORK (WJZ)-- It could be a history making race as American Pharoah attempts to end a 37 year drought by winning the Triple Crown! Can he achieve what so many have failed to do?

One last lap before the big race.
"We're just enjoying it. Keeping him happy one more day, I'm holding up so far, which is good," said Bob Baffert, trainer.
His trainer pulling for a win, but all eyes are on American Pharaoh who's favored to win Belmont --- making him the first Triple Crown winner in 37 years.
It's only been done 11 times. The ever changing odds show late Friday on track's website--the thorough bred has a 2 in 5 chance of winning.
He faces seven horses Saturday, including top contenders: Materiality and Frosted.
The last time we saw American Pharoah was here at Preakness where not even a torrential downpour could stop him from running 7 lengths.
"Tomorrow the test is a mile and half around a big sweeping race track," said John Boniface.
John Boniface owns one of Maryland's largest thorough bred horse breeding and training farms.
He says the Triple Crown re-energizes the horse racing industry.
"We've lost some of the public audience through nutrition and change in society. We recruit some new enthusiasts, some new owners and breeders. It's good for the whole game," said Boniface.
And maintaining that excitement is all the more reason why so many are pulling for American Pharoah to win the Triple Crown.
