I-66 Lanes Reopen After Trash Truck Overturns
FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) -- Virginia State Police are charging the driver of an overturned trash truck with reckless driving in an incident that blocked the westbound lanes of Interstate 66 near the Capital Beltway.
By 9 a.m. Wednesday, two westbound lanes had been reopened to traffic and trash cleanup was under way.
Police identified the truck driver as Oscar Albarracin, 34, of New York. Investigators say speed was a factor as the driver lost control and the truck overturned.
Albarracin suffered non-life threatening injuries. A passenger in the truck was not injured.
