19-year-old turns himself into police after shooting at Anne Arundel gas station
A 19-year-old Glen Burnie man turned himself in to police after an argument at a Pasadena gas station led to a shooting that left a man injured, according to Anne Arundel County police.
Ramon Emi'jai Alston faces 10 charges, including attempted murder.
Officers responded around 11:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, to the Dash In on Mountain Road, where they found a person suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim's vehicle also had multiple bullet holes.
Police said the victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators said Alston and the victim got into an argument at a gas pump before Alston allegedly shot the victim and drove away.
Surveillance video captures shooting at Pasadena gas station
CBS News Baltimore obtained surveillance video showing a group of people gathered around a gas pump before a person pulls out a gun and fires shots.
"Seeing that, that's kind of crazy," said Pasadena resident Bradley Whitlock. "You don't see that around here. You don't see a lot of that in Pasadena."
Whitlock said he visits the Dash In on Mountain Road nearly every day. He was there on Oct. 9 and noticed the police activity but initially did not know what had happened.
"I saw all the police activity and everything and I didn't know what was happening," Whitlock said. "And then I saw a bunch of stuff on Facebook going around that there was a shooting."
Whitlock said the shooting would not stop him from visiting the convenience store, but it has raised questions about changes in the area.
"But it definitely makes you think how is the area changing?" Whitlock said. "And Pasadena is getting so built up so where are these things coming from?"
