Man on Clayton County's Top 10 Most Wanted list arrested in Minnesota, deputies say

A fugitive who was on Clayton County's Top 10 Most Wanted list is now in custody after deputies caught him in Minnesota, officials say.

Authorities with the Clayton County Sheriff's Office say Javon Diamonte McDonald was named one of the suspects in a violent attack at a local tattoo shop.

On June 5, 2025, officials say officers were called to Cykotik Lifestyle Tattoos on Tara Boulevard after receiving reports of an assault.

According to investigators, the victim in the case was beaten, restrained with zip ties, and forced into a bathroom where multiple individuals involved shoved the man's head in a toilet. The victim was hospitalized with multiple bone fractures and cuts.

Deputies say they used surveillance footage, phone records, and other evidence to identify McDonald as one of the group who was allegedly involved in the attack. 

On Friday, the U.S. Marshals and Clayton County deputies tracked McDonald down to Minnesota, where he was taken into custody.

McDonald faces charges that include two counts of armed robbery, kidnapping, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, hijacking a motor vehicle, and more.

It is not clear whether McDonald has been extradited to Clayton County at this time.
