No victims injured after reported shooting at Vandergriff Honda in Arlington, police say

ARLINGTON (CBSNewsTexas.com) — An investigation is underway after a gunman opened fire outside the Vandergriff Honda in Arlington Thursday evening.

At 6:30 p.m. Sept. 28, officers were sent to the dealership located along the Interstate 20 frontage road in response to calls stating a male armed with a shotgun was firing rounds toward the business.

When officers arrived, police said they immediately encountered and engaged the gunman, who was fired at "as result of his actions." He is currently getting medical treatment at a local hospital.

Police said the gunman is a former employee who was terminated in the last 30 to 60 days, and that they will be conducting two concurrent investigations—an administrative one as well as a criminal one.

The frontage road will remain closed and officers will be diverting traffic onto eastbound I-20 while investigators work the scene.
